I have been seeing an increasing number of posts about narious new financial scams. With the rise of AI and general increasing sophistication of scammers it looks like people have begun to receive very convincing calls from their banks, family members and friends. Sometimes they are calling to ask for money, othertimes it’s about some issue with a credit card or bank account.

If you ever receive any call about anything remotely financial I think the best course of action will always be to hang up and call that person or business back yourself. I wouldn’t even bother telling the person on the phone that this is what you plan to do. Hang up, and if you think it could be a real call, phone them yourself.

These scammers will know things about you; sometimes very specific things relating to financial transactions. Don’t trust them. Hang up. Call them back on their official line or personal phone number. Thanks!
